What Is CNG?

CNG stands for ‘Compressed Natural Gas’. It contains methane. It occurs at very high pressure and exists in a gaseous state. CNG can be used as a fuel instead of diesel, petrol, gasoline, and LPG in transports. The CNG gas is stored at 20-25 MPa in a cylinder container. In comparison to gasoline, petrol, or diesel, it produces less harmful gases at the time of combustion.

There are various advantages of CNG as compared to other fuels, like:
-Low in cost than other fuels.
-Fuel loss is minimum.
-High efficiency.
-Produce less harmful gases.

What Is LPG?

LPG stands for ‘Liquefied Petroleum Gas’. It contains propane and butane. LPG is obtained from petroleum oil in a liquid state. This liquid is highly flammable and is used for cooking purposes. Other than cooking, it is used as an aerosol propellant, as a refrigerant, and as a fuel in vehicles. It is stored in cylindrical vessels under high pressure.

The advantages of LPG are:
-Resource efficient.
-Produce less amount of CO2 than coal.
-A clean-burning fuel.
-Gives transportable energy.

Comparison Between CNG Vs LPG:

-CNG is compressed natural gas.
-LPG is liquefied petroleum gas.

-CNG consists of methane.
-LPG consists of propane and butane.

-CNG is present in a gaseous state.
-LPG is present in a liquid state.

-CNG produce less harmful gases.
-LPG produce carbon dioxide.

-CNG requires large space because it is a gas.
-LPG requires less space because it is a liquid.
