The scientific name for leopard is Panthera Pardus, which belongs to the Felidae family. It is found in Africa, Asia, Russia, Indonesia, China, and the Middle East. Leopards are delicate and slender with a lighter body appearance. It weighs about 30 to 80 kg, or sometimes up to 100 kg. It has rosette-shaped spots on the body.

Leopards hunt their prey by biting the throat or suffocating the prey to death. A leopard has longer tails as compared to the cheetah. This long tail helps to maintain balance while climbing the trees.

What Is Cheetah?

The scientific name of a cheetah is Acinonyx jubatus from the family Felidae. It is known as the fastest animal in the world. It is the only big cat that cannot roar. However, it roars or growls. It can go up to 6 miles per hour in 3 seconds. It is tan in colour with small, round, and black spots all over the body.

A cheetah can be easily distinguished from its facial features. The tear stripes stretch from the corner of the eyes to the sides of the nose tells us that it is a cheetah. The cheetah has also a great ability, it only drinks once in three to four days.

A cheetah has a flexible body with short heads, long legs, body, and tail. It weighs up to 35 to 65 kg. It never remains calm and always stays nervous and cautious. A cheetah can be easily found in Africa and parts of the Middle East.
