They are packed and processed in the Golgi apparatus in the form of small vesicles. These small vesicles are then pinched off from the Golgi apparatus and become the lysosomes. Lysosomes have the thickest membrane and have many small granules containing hydrolytic enzymes. The degradation energy of the lysosomes does not generate any type of energy.

What Are Ribosomes?

Ribosomes are the organelles that are found in the cytoplasm with no enclosed membrane. They are small dot-like in shape and have a granular structure. They can be found floating freely in the cytoplasm or sometimes are attached to the endoplasmic reticulum. The main function of ribosomes is to produce proteins. They are around 15 nm in diameter. Ribosomes have 65% of ribonucleic acid (RNA) and 35% of proteins. The RNA present in the ribosomes is called ribosomal RNA (rRNA).
