What is Stroke And Its Symptoms
What is a Stroke?
A stroke is a brain attack that can happen at any time to any person. It occurs when there is cut-off blood flow to the area of the brain. When a stroke occurs, brain cells are deprived of oxygen and start to die. When this happens the abilities which are controlled by that part of the brain where the supply of oxygen is cut off is lost, such as memory or any muscle control.
How much stroke affects the person depends on the area and the quantity of damage to the brain. For example, a person with a minor stroke may encounter mild arm or leg weakness. People who are affected by the larger stroke may lose their ability to speak. Maybe permanently paralyzed on any side of the body.
What causes the Stroke?
There are two kinds of stroke:
1. Ischemic stroke: It occurs in the blood vessels of the brain and is similar to a heart attack. Clots can be formed in the brain’s blood vessels. Vessels lead to the brain or any other blood vessels in a different area of the body, thus travelling to the brain. These clots in the blood vessels stop the blood flow to the brain cells. About 80% of strokes are ischemic.

2. Hemorrhagic stroke: This stroke occurs when there is a rupture of blood vessels in the brain. Then there is blood seeping into the tissues of the brain. It resulted in the damage of brain cells. These types of strokes can occur due to high blood pressure or brain aneurysms. Aneurysms are a weakness or thinness of the walls of blood vessels.
